UPPSC Pre Recruitment 2023

Main Exam: The UPPSC Main Exam is a descriptive exam that tests the candidate’s knowledge of the subject. The exam consists of eight papers, and the total marks for the exam are 1500. The candidates who qualify for the Preliminary Exam are eligible to appear for the Main Exam.

Interview: The candidates who qualify for the Main Exam are called for an interview. The interview carries a maximum of 100 marks, and the candidates are evaluated on their personality, communication skills, and general knowledge.

The final selection is based on the candidate’s performance in the Main Exam and the interview. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam are not considered for the final selection. The candidates who clear all the stages of the selection process are eligible for the appointment

Exam Duration: The duration of the exam will be 2 hours for each paper.

Exam Language: The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English languages.

Exam Papers: The exam will consist of two papers: Paper I and Paper II.

Number of Questions: Each paper will have 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions.

Total Marks: Each paper will be of 200 marks, making the total marks for the exam 400.

Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking of one-third of the marks allotted to the question for every incorrect answer

History of India and Indian National Movement

• Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World
• Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.

• Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
• General Science – Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

Paper II:

• Comprehension
• Interpersonal skills including communication skills
• Logical reasoning and analytical ability
• Decision making and problem-solving
• General mental ability
• Elementary Mathematics – Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics

• Click on the “Apply” button on the home page and select “Candidate Registration” from the drop-down menu.

• Register by providing your personal details like name, email ID, phone number, etc. and submit.

• After registration, you will receive your login credentials (registration number and password) on your registered email ID and phone number.

• Login with your registration number and password and fill out the application form by providing your academic, personal and other required details.

• Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature and other necessary documents as per the instructions given in the application form.

• Pay the application fee using online payment methods like net banking, debit card, credit card, etc.

• Review the application form and submit it.

• Take a printout of the application form and fee receipt for future reference

Know the Syllabus: Once you have the exam pattern, you should know the syllabus thoroughly. You can create a study plan based on the syllabus and allot time for each topic.

Gather Study Material: You should gather study material such as books, notes, and previous year papers to get an idea of the type of questions asked in the exam.

Practice Mock Tests: It is important to practice mock tests regularly to analyze your performance and identify your strengths and weaknesses. You can find online mock tests or you can create your own based on the exam pattern.

Time Management: Time management is crucial for any exam. You should allocate enough time for each section of the exam and try to complete the exam within the given time.
